Verdict: ChatSEO is the SEO agent we now ask first about our own site. It reads your Search Console like a consultant, ranks the fixes worth doing this month and writes the pages. Plans start at €29 a month. Try ChatSEO free for 7 days (affiliate link).
This page is the build-in-public log behind that verdict. We ran twelve messages on our hub, welcometotheaijungle.com, over two days and checked every figure against our raw data. Below are the prompts, the timings, the credits, what it got right, where it slipped and what we shipped from its advice.
The product moves fast. Over the past months the team added Google Analytics on Pro, local SEO, Shopify and Webflow publishing, and an MCP server that now exposes 38 tools.
The verdict card
| ChatSEO | |
|---|---|
| Tool and version | ChatSEO, Pro plan, used through its MCP server from Claude Code and in the web app |
| How long, on what work | 10 and 11 October 2026 on welcometotheaijungle.com: Search Console analysis, keyword volumes, a comparison article and a monthly action plan |
| What we paid | €0 for the test. ChatSEO gave us one month of Pro (€49 a month list price). The test used 12 of the 200 monthly credits |
| What broke, and the workaround | One draft carried an invented author and a few wrong summary lines, each fixed in about 13 seconds once flagged. It also said it cannot publish, although its MCP server can. Workaround: read every draft before it goes live |
| Who it suits, who should skip it | Suits a firm or small agency with Search Console and one person who can approve pages. Skip it if you only want to track AI citations |
| Kept, replaced or dropped | KEPT. It is our first stop for SEO questions on the hub. The free month ends on 8 November 2026, and we will update this card with what we pay |
How we ran the test
We connected ChatSEO to the Search Console of our hub and asked it what a firm would ask a new SEO consultant. Each question went in its own conversation through ChatSEO's MCP server, so we logged the exact prompt, the answer time and the credit count. We then checked each answer against our own sources: the Search Console API for the same dates, DataForSEO for search volumes, and the live site.
Day one ran in French on 10 October. On 11 October we replayed the key questions in English for the screenshots on this page.
| Question | Answer time | Credits | Checked against | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 28-day Search Console report | 19 s | 1 | Search Console API, same dates | Totals exact: 17 clicks, 5,624 impressions, position 28.85 |
| Volumes for six French keywords | 20 s | 1 | DataForSEO | Every volume exact, none invented |
| Article: best GEO tools 2026 | 2 min 19 s | 1 | 92 claims, one by one | 70 of 88 checkable claims exact, 7 wrong |
| Which GEO tool for a small business? | 57 s | 1 | Vendors' pricing pages | Did not recommend itself |
| Five priority actions for our site | 40 s | 1 | Search Console API and the live site | Every figure exact, 3 actions shipped the same day |
| Corrections and follow-ups | 5 to 13 s | 3 | The article after each fix | Each fix clean |
| English replay, four questions | Under 1 min, 4 min for the article | 4 | Same sources | Same figures as day one |
It reads Search Console without a wrong total
The first question asked for 28 days of data. Nineteen seconds later ChatSEO gave 17 clicks, 5,624 impressions and an average position of 28.85 for 10 September to 7 October. Our own export says the same, to the decimal. It added that an average position across hundreds of queries is a trend signal rather than a ranking, the caveat a good consultant would add.

English replay, 11 October. The highlighted totals match our raw export.
One slip on day one: its "top 10 queries" were sorted by clicks, so a query with one impression made the list while "ai agent consulting", with 381 impressions, did not. The English replay listed it.
The five-step plan is the best part
We asked for the five SEO actions that matter most on our site this month, ranked by impact, each with the page, the evidence and the time needed. ChatSEO read our pages, the sitemap and 90 days of data, then answered in 40 seconds. The table at the top of this page is that answer.
We checked every figure in Search Console and on the live site, and all of them held: the listicle with 5,196 impressions for two clicks, the guide competing with our main service page at position 76.4, the /agency page with 174 impressions and no click. Two title lengths were off by four characters. It also noticed, unprompted, that none of its September recommendations had been applied.

It checked the live site against its own September advice.
We shipped three of the five actions that afternoon: a 301 from the competing guide to the service page, a new title for /agency, and a link from the listicle to the service page. We skipped two. Moving the listicle would have reset a page that has climbed from position 27.5 to 21.7 since our redesign, and the keyword it wanted on the homepage already belongs to another page in our plan. ChatSEO had no way to know either fact, and we would expect the same split with a human consultant.
The writing is fast, so read before you publish
For a comparison of GEO tools, ChatSEO first checked whether our site already covered the topic, read the pages ranking for the query and collected each vendor's pricing page. It ran twelve internal steps for one credit and delivered 2,532 words on ten tools, with the meta title and description measured in pixels.

The steps it runs before writing a word.
We had a second agent check that draft claim by claim: 70 of 88 checkable claims were exact, 11 approximate and 7 wrong. Vendor prices were nearly all right. The errors sat in summary lines, such as a price range that contradicted its own table, and in the byline, where it had invented an author with a made-up biography. Asked why, it explained the cause, put our name in and refused to write a bio it could not verify. Each fix took about 13 seconds. In the English replay it signed the draft with our real name and left the bio for us to fill.

Day two: real byline, bio left blank for us, ready to send to the CMS.
It does not sell itself
Asked which GEO tool a small business should buy, ChatSEO did not name itself. It said it reads pricing pages rather than testing the tools, and pointed to a $20 to $29 tracker. Asked where it fits, it drew the line plainly: trackers measure whether AI answers cite you, and ChatSEO does the work that gets you cited.

Its own map of where it fits.
Two answers need a second look. It quoted different prices for three tools than in the article it had written 15 minutes earlier, so check prices at the source. And it said it does not publish, although its MCP server can publish to WordPress. We are reporting that one to the ChatSEO team.

Who should use it
Use ChatSEO if you have Search Console set up and one person who can spend an hour a week reading its plans and approving pages. It also suits consultants who want analysis and drafting from inside Claude or ChatGPT.
Skip it if you only want to watch your brand in AI answers (take a GEO tracker), or if nobody will act on what it finds. For consulting firms, our hub explains which SEO jobs to hand to an agent in Best AI SEO agent for consulting firms 2026.
Read the raw conversations
Every conversation is public. In English: Search Console report, the article, ChatSEO versus GEO trackers and the plan for our site (French first, then English). In French: keyword volumes, the article with its corrections and the buying question.
FAQ
Is ChatSEO accurate?
On our data, yes. Its Search Console totals matched our raw export to the decimal, its search volumes matched DataForSEO, and every figure in its five-step plan checked out. Its long drafts need a read: 7 of 88 checkable claims in one article were wrong, mostly in summary lines.
How many credits does ChatSEO use?
One credit per message, whatever the work behind it. A 2,500-word article with twelve internal steps cost one credit. Our whole test, twelve messages, used 12 of the 200 monthly credits on Pro.
Can ChatSEO publish to WordPress?
Yes. It connects to WordPress, Shopify and Webflow, and its MCP server can publish a draft. Approve each page before it goes live.
Is ChatSEO a GEO tool?
No, and it says so itself. GEO trackers such as Otterly or Peec AI measure whether AI answers cite you. ChatSEO does the SEO work that gets your pages cited: research, audits, writing and internal links.
